ACTIVE EMERGENCY IN EAST AFRICA

A recent spike in seasonal rainfall has resulted in widespread, catastrophic flooding across large parts of SomaliaKenya, and Ethiopia. This has caused hundreds of thousands to be displaced and many homes, businesses, and water sources have been damaged or completely destroyed. The floods are expected to worsen over the coming weeks, continuing to wreak havoc on the region.

Islamic Relief local offices have already mobilized, but they need support: We all have to work together. Urgent needs on the ground are food, water, shelter, mosquito netting, and mobile health assistance. When the floods eventually subside, communities will need help rebuilding. Today, they need emergency aid.

Please, send aid for our brothers and sisters in need in East Africa.

BACKGROUND

The effects of the current climate crisis started in December 2015, and now, in 2018, things have gotten exponentially worse. Millions of people are in need of humanitarian assistance: Food insecurity is growing; entire harvests have been wiped out, and more are at-risk of drying out. Bad conditions and no nutrition mean water-borne diseases can spread more easily—the need for easy-to-access clean water is more urgent than ever.
